Karl kick-started his personal training company by training clients in their homes in 2004. I was born in Dublin on January 12th 1982 and attended St. Michaels College Secondary School from 1989 to 2000. He has been playing sport since a very young age and since becoming vegetarian over 5 years ago I have found an all new level of fitness that has seen him progress into marathon running,ironman triathlons and now ultramarathons.

I have a BSc(hons) Sports Management from University College Dublin and two personal training qualifications A.C.E and A.A.B.S.I have been personal training for over 11 years now and founded Karl Henry Personal Training in 2004.I am currently studying a exercise and nutrition masters science degree from the University Of Chester as I feel it is essential to keep reinvesting in knowledge so that I am uptodate with all the current science and findings.

I am the fitness expert on Operation Transformation on RTE 1 and have been since the show started 5 years ago. My weekly health column in the Daily Mail is out every tuesday and I regularly contribute to magazines and other publications.I have appeared on the Panel on RTE 2, The Daily Show, The afternoon Show as well as numerous other tv shows over the years . I have contributed to most of Ireland's radio stations over the years, including the Gerry Ryan Show, Marian Fionnucane, Newstalk, 2fm ,Fm 104, 4fm, 98fm and SPIN103.8.My media work gives me a great oppertunity to spread the message of health to as many people as possible. I have also worked with companies such as Centrum, Lucoazde Sport lite, Emobile and many more helping to promote fitness with them to their staff and on their behalf.

As well as doing personal training,I also specialise in corporate fitness and wellness days , lecturing to a number of the top companies in the country. Our cleint base consists of athletes, celebrities and people who want to acheive their goals and are willing to work hard to achieve those goals. I don't believe in quick fixes and fad diets as I feel that healthy eating and proper training is the key to getting amazing results.i believe that anyone can get into great shape, with a little hard work, an improved diet and some guidance, our company motto has always been to take the nonsense out of the fitness market, and show our clients how they can get into their best shape using exercises that they can learn and use long after the sessions are finished.

I am also a Fitness Fanatic. Each year finding a new sport to further my knowledge so that i can pass this knowledge onto my cients.My interests include Hillwalking, Cycling, Triathlon, Swimming, Mountain Biking,Kite Surfing,Surfing and pretty much anything.I regularly run Marathons and ironmans in locations across the globe and am curently training for an ultramarathon in Connemara in april 2012.

Having spent the past few days on my holidays around Ireland, surfing on the wonderful Inch strand, mountain running around the mysterious caragh lake near Killorglin and mountain biking through the black valley into the gap of Dunloe, my girlfriend and I were blown away by the amount of people who are out exercising, its astonishing to see that people are beginning to realise just how much Ireland has to offer interms of sports,

A quick look on www.runireland.com will show you just how many races are now on. We are rapidly becoming a nation of running and adrenaline junkies, with these low cost races adding fuel to the fire.
